Without this critical program, not only would we be unable to give thousands of Hamilton County's animals a second chance, but we wouldn't be able to save hundreds of animals each year who are slated for euthanasia at other area shelters. Many of these animals will die simply because there isn't enough space to house them or because of injuries and illnesses their shelters have no funding to treat. For some, it's simply because they're fearful or senior pets.
We don't believe these are reasons to die.
So whenever funding and space permit, those are the animals we choose to rescue. The ones often no other rescue organization can, or will, save. And for the ones like Gracie, we are their only chance.Because of the number of severely injured and neglected animals in our care, the Survivor Fund is now depleted.
This means we are relentlessly raising funds for each animal as they arrive with life-threatening injuries or illnesses to stay true to our No Kill philosophy. And it means until the Survivor Fund is replenished, we cannot save the equally deserving animals we are implored to help every week from our neighboring counties.
The photos and stories of each animal facing an unnecessary death leave a scar on our hearts when we must say NO.
That's why this Parade of Paws Walk is the most important one we've ever had. Because in just one week, you can change the outcome for an animal on the next "list" we receive. It takes about 10 minutes to set up your online fundraising team and blast it out to family and friends for their support. Even if you can't attend the event, you can still participate!
Please help us SAY YES to the animals counting on us. Join the Parade of Paws or make a tax deductible donation to our Survivor Program today.
