Worms contribute to about 200,000 needless deaths every year. These parasites are highly contagious and cause severe diarrhea, vomiting, anemia, pneumonia, abdominal pain, dehydration, fever, weakness, pneumonia, skin ulcers, etc. Lives are saved with simple medicine. At every place I visit here in Haiti, I see parasite-infected children with the bloated stomachs (as seen in the picture). After playing with these children, my heart breaks because I know how simply I could help improve and even save their lives! The people most affected by these parasites are those that are malnourished and weak - children. If treated when a child is young, we can take their whole life down a different path. Studies show that as adults, their average income is 40% higher than those that aren't treated. Without worms, they're much healthier and are able to better care for the needs of their families. Worms eat 20% of a chld's food intake a day, leaving them very malnourished despite their large bellies. This malnourishment also affects the brain and is very detrimental to how they will function in school. You can help keep parasites and worms from hurting more children by providing simple medicines and basic education to teach how to prevent getting worms and parasites in the future. Help us by providing lifesaving medicne and education. I want to make a difference in 4,000 lives by providing them with this medicine. At $10 per dose of medication, we need $40,000 to make that happen. With your tax-deductible donation, please help me in making that difference.
