Partners in Health is fundraising for Pleebo Health Center in Liberia. The health center is meant to serve 60,000 people, but actually serves 160,000. There are wait times of 3 hours, and they take care of about 100 patients a day. The center needs help to run, and the money donated will help fund them for a full year. Partners in Health is an organization that advocates for health as a human right and for preferential option for the poor. What this means is modern medicine being used for the most in need globally. PIH builds a social movement making global health equity a reality, and focuses on eliminating health disparities. Not only does PIH empower those in need by setting up training programs and institutes, but but the partnerships made forge a commitment to changing the policies underlying disparities.
