Partners For Others
Organized by: Ray Brosseuk
For over 20 years my wife and I have been shipping containers of aid into Africa and other parts of the world. Our warehouse is currently overflowing with enough items to fill over 4 containers. Hospital supplies, good clean clothing from the local thrift stores, dehydrated vegetable soup mix, medical equipment from the Red Cross, and so much more.
This year we have been given more than we can afford to ship, and yet we are receiving more and more requests for assistance. Because of the increasing demand, we are in desperate need of your support in helping send these items to where they are needed most. We usually fund this from our gold mining operations in the Yukon, but this year the needs are more than we can meet on our own. So far we have $5,137.04 towards the 1st container. Each container costs around $8,000.
Our goal has always been to meet the immediate needs of those who we personally come in contact within each country. Then, we aim to help them become self-sufficient by providing resources to assist in the development of community projects and industries. Over the years of traveling abroad, and living for extended periods of time with some of the most vulnerable people of the world, we have seen that there is always an immediate need for food, shelter and clothing. However, we have always realized that true long term help lies in supporting them to and while they lift themselves from poverty.
I received very little formal education as a child because my family lived in various countries doing volunteer work, so my heart has always been drawn to helping children receive a good education. Along with our aid work, we try to focus on starting up and supporting projects in their villages that will go towards educating the children. I believe that the most powerful and positive impact that we can have on the future of a country is to help their children get an education.
We have 6 children, 3 of whom we adopted from Southern Africa and 1 from the South Pacific Islands. They bring such joy into our home and it’s for them that we continue to support the orphans of their home countries. We receive and send over 3 million cups of dehydrated soup mix each year that goes into feeding the orphans and the most vulnerable people.
