Together we can do more! This is the motto of my organization ... and there couldn't be a more true statement for our current situation. I volunteer with and foster through The Franklin County Humane Society (FCHS) in North Carolina. We are a small non-profit rescue. We do not get any federal or state funding, and we are not associated with the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), so we receive no funding from that front either. We are an all volunteer organization that raises all of our funding though the efforts of our volunteers and support of the public. None of us get payed ... not even our board President. We are the only local rescue in this area that takes in "owner surrender " cats & dogs. In the last 2 weeks, we have taken in 4 separate litters of puppies to keep them out of the shelter. Unfortunately, our litter of 7 Australian Cattle Dog mix puppies has just been diagnosed with Parvo, a very serious and deadly disease. Our medical bill for just one day of treatment was $490. We simply don't have this kind of money. We need your help to raise enough money to treat and care for these puppies as they fight for their lives. Please consider making a donation for their care.
