We know how much children love being outside to run around, discover plants and bugs, peddle something with big wheels or just stare up at the clouds. And so we've been putting some good money and time into our yards.
Here's some things that happened over the past six months: new drinking fountains, new wood chips, shade canopy for the Atrium, tree pruning and new planting in the garden. Not to mention the hay bales.
We need to raise some money to help pay off these projects and to keep making these spaces more beautiful and more fun for our children.
So, if by any chance, you happen to know a PDN child who likes to climb, dig, slide, plant, run or be out in the sun--ever--you might really want to support this project. If you do, we'll be super-grateful!

One of the best things about Pasadena Day Nursery, our outdoor spaces, is actually six things: there's the Butterfly Yard, the Cub Yard, the Lower Yard (with the little garden), the Upper Yard, the Atrium and Betty's Garden (also known as "the Side Yard," "the Other Yard" or "That Newly Renovated, Really Beautiful Yard on the Corner"). Each of these spaces has something special about it.* Even the dirt under your child's fingernails and those cute little bruises they get on their shins tell you how much they love their outdoor playtime!
* kinda like how each one of Lollapalooza's many stages has something special about it, even though we thought it was a bit much when they added another 14 stages this year, including the Chef Boyardee Folk-Blues-Ragtime-Punk Stage.
