Help Me Get to Kolkata
Organized by: Pascale Péan
As many of you already know, I'm passionate about traveling and learning more about different cultures. To me, these things emphasize the beauty of humanity, which is why I'm so interested in human rights issues. Unfortunately, there are people on Earth who are not considered fully human. I want to spend time with those people and see some of the world from their eyes to help them regain their humanity.
This August, I have the incredible opportunity to travel to Kolkata, India (previously known as Calcutta) with a group from Pacific Union College to work with women who were recently in human trafficking. I'll be working with them as they learn valuable skills that will help them make a new life for themselves by supporting themselves and their families.
But I can't get there alone. I need to raise $4,000 to be able to go. This price includes the flight, food, lodging, and my visa to be able to go to India. I don't have an extra $4,000, and I'm guessing you don't either. But if we all pitch in, I'll be able to go.
Please help me go by donating to this great cause: working with women who aren't considered human--women in human trafficking.
Thank you and God bless,
