Pastor Melil Chandy Mathew has been a Pastor and a servant of God for over 50 years. He completed his education at Cary College in 1965 and then worked as an Instructor and on-site sales for a construction company in Colombo. He was called to the ministry while attending Calvary Church in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Then he became the Pastor of Calvary Church. To further his studies, him and his wife (Chrisantie) moved to England and after three years graduated from Birmingham Bible College. He was called to minister to the people in Negombo. He moved to the Negombo area in 1978. He began the first church in Negombo: Negombo Charismatic Centre. Later, added to branch churches and has ministered the gospel to many people and has help many people come up in life. Last week he was admitted to the hospital with loss of consciousness, heart failure and failing organs. What started as a cough turned in to an infection that put him into a stroke with Pneumonia. The doctors at Navaloka Hospital have been great taking good care of him and reviving most of his organs. The biggest challenge now is that they need to get his organs functioning normal so that he could gain consciousness, his mobility and motor skills back. He has dedicated his whole live to the ministry making God and the church first in his life. He will be 80 this year and would like to continue God's work for the years to come.
