Pateros Catastrophe Fund
Organized by: Matt Horey
THANK YOU for your support for the Pateros and Okanogan County residents impacted by the fire. The outpouring of support has been overwhelming. 62% of all funds collected have been distributed directly to families who lost their homes in the fire. The list was provided by the Pateros Relief Center and reviewed by the volunteer fire department.
Last week, within two weeks of the fire storm, we were able to directly help 8 families (18 children), one who is requiring surgery for a non-fire related illness. I met each family individually along with at least one representative from the Pateros Relief center. These meetings were very unique and at the same time shared commonalities, shock, tears, hugs, and love. I wish each of you could have been there to experience these emotions and immediate impacts. If there was a way I could channel the love and appreciation from these families I would certainly do that.
We are not done yet. As mentioned above we’ve only distributed 62% of funds collected as of 8/2. The first round was targeted for immediate needs for the children. Later this week I’ll be meeting with two more families on my list. Moving forward we will begin to help with resettlement of these families.
THANK YOU -> Be proud of your contributions, we put money into the hands of people who needed it the most.

Pateros is a small, close-knit community of families, elderly, and proud veterans located in central Washington state. Recently, the town was devastated by Wildfire. At the time of this writing, the fire is nearly a quarter of a million acres large, and has destroyed over 200 homes and businesses in Pateros and surrounding towns. Many of those impacted are families with young children. Hundreds of people have literally lost everything, and are in immediate need of assistance. This fund has been established by the community to serve the community, with 100% of donations given directly to those impacted by this tragic Wildfire. Thank you for your donation which can be provided on this site, or to the Pateros Catastrophe Fund at any Wells Fargo bank.
Please note: Absolutely 0 administrative fees are retained from your donation. All administration and distribution efforts are strictly volunteer effort. In addition, if you donate on this site by credit card, you can even select an option that 0% of your donation is intended to cover credit card processing fees, further ensuring your confidence that the money you donate is done in a secure manner, and 100% distributed to those in need.
