Our goal is to empower 1 million people to restart their careers by bringing our program to more than 10,000 companies by 2026. It’s big and audacious, and we believe achieving it will bring exponential benefits – to the companies who participate, the women who get hired, and our society as a whole.
Everyone knows someone who has taken time off for caregiving for a child, spouse or other loved one. While most caregivers intend to return to the workforce, the road back is arduous and many find their career aspirations permanently sidelined due to bias around resume gaps and career pauses.
We believe there is a real opportunity to remove the stigma around caregiving and help companies tap into a talent pool that often goes overlooked and, because women are more likely to take time away from their career for care, to increase women’s participation in the paid workforce.
Path Forward is solving this problem by partnering with companies to create 20-week paid internships for midcareer professionals who have been out of the workforce for more than two years to accommodate caregiving responsibilities. Our success is measured by the success of the people in our program. 90% of our graduates achieved ongoing employment within six months of the end of their internship.
We are raising money to do this important work. The money we raise will be used to outreach to participants, sign on new partner companies to offer internships, to develop training curriculum for partners and participants and to provide support services to participants throughout the program.
Join us in empowering more caregivers and help to create a more equitable future for all.
