Help Pat Continue Her Charity Work
Organized by: Barb Kolb
This is Pat Kolb. To some she gives hope and inspiration. Others believe her to be an angel and her presence in their life a small miracle. Her life quote is taken from Mrs. Martin Luther King-- "no one can help everyone but everyone can help someone"! Still, she tries to help EVERYONE.
Pat is an 82 year young mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who has dedicated her whole life to "Paying It Forward" -- sometimes to the dismay of the folks that love her because she keeps nothing for herself and NEVER asks for help for herself.
Six years ago, Patsy recognized a need in her community to help the folks who are struggling to get the help they so desperately needed. Hence, her Yahoo group aimed at obtaining donations and information to assist with clothing, food, utilities , housing and other help FREE of charge and ‘Arizonans Helping Arizonans’ was born. She uses her own very limited financial resources, van and gas to obtain, pick up and deliver donations - often to her own detriment. She states almost daily that 'helping other people is the reason she gets out of bed every day' ! She was even featured on a segment of Arizona’s news channel 3 called ‘Paying It Forward’.
Not unfamiliar to her, Patsy has recently found herself on hard times. She has been plagued with problems with her van as well as air conditioner, electrical and plumbing problems in her very modest 60+ year old home and is unable to afford a new air conditioner or the repairs for her home. Her family and group members are not able to raise this money, as most of them are struggling as well.
This little lady imprints on the hearts of everybody. She has touched thousands of lives with her loving, generous, non-judgmental and inspiring ways.
We hope her story will inspire you to help the process come full circle by ' paying it forward' to her, just as she has done for so many. We are hoping to raise $5,000.00- $8000.00 for her-- any excess over her expenses would go to, again, "Pay it Forward".
Please, check out her group if you would like to find out more about this amazing lady and her wonderful, passionate work.
