Stuff About Me:

Family,  friends, mentors and work colleagues,

Thank you so much for viewing  my page!As most of you know I am a Coro Fellow in Public Affairs. Coro is a national, nine month program, broken into four projects for cross sector learning experiences. Sectors include nonprofit, local government and for-profit (social responsibility). As part of our learning we are taking a trip to Washington D.C. for National Affairs week in May 2015.

So...what's National Affairs Week? National Affairs Week is a study week where our group of 12 fellows travel to Washington DC to talk to key stakeholders in national public affairs. The fellows choose four topics to learn more about policy making and how we as young adults can be part of the process to make a difference. I will be focusing on Economic Development.

I choose to be on the economic development team because of my passion to help people grow personally and professionally, especially when it comes to finances. I want to know what Govt. officials are doing on a national perspective and a community perspective to elevate people of low income to be financially empowered. Most low income americans are working citizens, single mothers and have some form of postsecondary education, yet are still barely making ends meet. What policies are being implemented to change the narrative? What legislation will provide the resources needed to succeed? I am passionate about this because I believe every American has the right to be economically sound and every has the right to choose the future they want.

Help me and the other fellows, explore economic development and other catalytic areas, so we can bring back our findings to the city of Pittsburgh. We will implement our findings  to become change agents in the city and leaders in the community.

We need YOUR help to make this trip a reality. We are responsible for raising $10,000 to cover our expenses to, from and while in DC. My personal goal is to raise at least $550

One way you can help support me and my cohort in this leadership journey is by donating to our campaign. We’re also in the midst of planning some fun events in the Pittsburgh area. You can help support us in person by coming to our happy hours and delicious ice cream fundraiser and others awesome events. So stay tuned!

Thanks  in advance for your support!

P.S. Any funds donated to me above the $550 will support all the fellows in our trip. Any funds donated to the fellows above $10,000 will go to support next year's group of Fellows in Public Affairs :)
