Hello, I'm Patricia Lovrien, Lovey's mom.
Thank you for chooseing the Lovey/Reddy team. Brent, (Lovey) & Michael not only worked together they were friends. Brothers! And as Brent would say it "Brothers from another Mother"
When I was asked to participate in this endevor of a 5 K I laughted and asked the lady if she knew how old I was! LOL, I've never done this! But after a very long conversation. And I found out all about it, I couldn't say anything but I'll give it my best! In doing so I am willing to try and walk this journey and hopefully by doing this you'll give me the incentive and help me to help raise the funds to assest these families who have lost thier love ones .
After Brent was killed in 2008, as you read earlier, Michael asked me when he found out that he was having a baby boy if he could name his little one after my son! Needless to say, Resoundingly, I said YES! What an honor. We too became very close. Michael even carried my son, as a pallbearer. Never ever dreaming that in a few short years, I would be attending this wonderful mans funeral! Michael sercumd to cancer. All firefighters don't die as they call it, "Line of Duty Death" like my son Brent. Who was killed in an esplosion. Never knew what hit him. I never got to say goodbye to my son...
Some, like Michael die because after being involved and around so many carcinogenics they get cancer. And die. Also I have learned that this job is so hard on so many they die of heart failure. This is a tuff job to handel. But these brave Men and Women go for it with out hesitation into every thing that we would run away from. That's why we need to support their families when they don't make it. When we loose a family member so unexpected, or after a long drugging illness, we are lost, we are heart broken and WE need help! Just like they don't think twice to save you or your property and all the other many many task they preform, we should not think twice to help them when they can no longer help anyone. Most important the families. It's a long hard road to travel, with or with out children. These brave souls are our sons and daughter, husbands & fathers, brothers and sisters. We all go though terrible times. And we need help! Every time I hear another firefighter went down, I sink a little more thinking of what I went though and now some other other family has lost their love one and is going though the whole tragic loss again. Every family has their own story, but the one thing I know we all suffer and need help.
Won't you please find it in your hearts to help out these families? If ever one donated even the minimum of 10.00 dollars, just think how fast this would add up! And believe me it does! So on behalf of my son, Brent, and Michael won't you please donate what ever you feel you can to help out our Fire Fighter Families?
Thank you from the bottem of my heart, Bless you all for taking the time to read this and coming to vist our sight. It is most appreciated! Gods Blessings Always Lovey's Mom ..... As Brent would say! "Let's Get er Done!"
