BENEFITING: The Foundation for Faces of Children
EVENT: Paces for Faces 2016
EVENT DATE: Sep 25, 2016
For almost ten years, I was involved with the Foundation for Faces of Children from 1994 through 2002 and then joined them for their 30th anniversary gala in 2012. After that, they asked me to serve on the Board of Directors again which I am currently doing.
Back in 1997, we hosted our 1st Annual "Miles for Smiles" (as it was then called) walk-a-thon which took place at Houghton's Pond in the Blue Hills Reservation. Every year since, the walk has taken place on Lake Quannapowitt in Wakefield, Mass. During my time serving on the board through 2002, I was involved with the walk planning each year.
Returning to the board in 2012, the walk had grown exponentially with regards. It is now known as "Paces for Faces Walk & Family Picnic". The participation has increased ten-fold from about 50 to close to 500 walkers of all ages! It has grown to be the Foundation's largest fundraising event each year.
This year we celebrate our 20th Annual Paces for Faces event which takes place on Sunday, September 25. Although I won't physically be walking the 3.5-mile lake, I will be hard at work the entire day as a volunteer and ask for your support.
Thank you in advance for your support and encouragement!
