BENEFITING: Generation Ubuntu
EVENT DATE: Dec 01, 2013
Children are our future. They have dreams. With our help they can make it. Together with Ubuntu Africa (UBA), lets restore the humanity of those children living with HIV.
Being from a country where until recently 1 in 4 people were infected with HIV and the life expectancy of women was only 34 years, I know many people who have lost their lives to AIDS. I have personally lost many relatives and friends to the disease over the years. What is even more heartbreaking is helplessly watching the HIV+ children that they leave behind also succumb to the disease due to lack of access to medication and proper care. Like any other child, children living with HIV need to be loved and cared for - it is more than just handing them their daily dose of meds. Restoring the humanity of those children living with HIV is exactly what Ubuntu Africa (UBA) does. That is why I support UBA. Please support my efforts to raise awareness and the much needed funds to allow UBA to continue supporting HIV+ children in under-served communities. No donation amount is too small. Every dollar makes a difference with UBA: $2,500 supports one UBA child for a year; $500 provides a month of medical supplies; $100 provides a hot meal to all 200 UBA children.
Ubuntu is all about shared humanity and generosity, and I believe that many of us live this spirit in our every day lives. Check out some inspiring videos here and here to see how Ubuntu Africa is transforming the lives of those otherwise uncared for children.
