BENEFITING: Fraxa Research Foundation
EVENT DATE: Jun 04, 2016
Patrick’s PALS 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament was established to support efforts by FRAXA Research Foundation to find a cure for Fragile X, the most common inherited cause of Autism & Intellectual Disabilities worldwide. Pam & Jim Vershbow had a son Patrick in 1993; he was diagnosed with Fragile X at 10 months. Jim's friends since middle school (Billy, Jon & Steve) wanted to do something to support Pam & Jim, and so along with them established PALS in 1997. Since then two other close friends, Jim & Scott, have come aboard to form a special team that has planned this fundraiser for the past 19 years. A 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament takes place the first Saturday after Memorial Day, every year bringing together 32 teams eager to play a lot basketball in support of a great cause. As we close in on our 20th anniversary we are trying to reach a million dollars raised in support of FRAXA!
