A Half-Marathon Pilgrimage to Support The Pittsburgh Promise!
As a member of The Pittsburgh Promise Grass Roots Committee, I am walking one leg of the walk from PPS's first STEAM school, Woolslair Elementary in Bloomfield to the Creative & Performing Arts (CAPA) High School in Downtown, Pittsburgh. I walk this year to honor the arts. My youngest son found his true passion when he took an AP Music Theory class at Allderdice and with the help of The Pittsburgh Promise was able to pursue that passion at California University of Pennsylvania. I walk in gratitude for the gift the Promise gave to my son, but I also walk to pay it forward to the Promise's future scholars because I have seen the hope that the Promise gives to kids who, prior to the Promise, didn't think they had a future. I have seen the difference the Promise makes in the lives of our students, and I humbly ask you to help me keep that hope alive by donating at a level that is meaningful to you. Thank you.
Oxford Development has issued a $10,000 Challenge. Help us raise $10,000 to unlock their generous match for the second year in a row!
All proceeds will benefit The Pittsburgh Promise.
Walk kick-off will be at Phillips Elementary in South Side at 8:00AM and will finish there as well. Snacks/drinks, bathroom breaks, and shuttles for walkers will be provided.
