BENEFITING: American Cancer Society
EVENT DATE: Oct 01, 2014
It's funny how life works sometimes. One moment you're eating cinnamon rolls wrapped in bacon, the next you find out that you qualified for a marathon. That's right, I'm officially running the Long Island Marathon in 2014. This won't be easy, and it won't be fun (eh maybe a little fun) but I'll be doing this for a good cause. Most of you know about my history with the American Cancer Society. Plenty of Delaware friends have participated in Relay For Life with me. You may have visited the Hope Lodge to cook meals for cancer patients or helped promote the Great American Smokeout with me. Maybe you once saw me on campus locking professors up in jail, freezing in place for 5 mins on the Green, seen me with a shaved head, freestyle rapping, and don't get me started on that time when I grew a mustache. These were all to promote the great work that the ACS does. My grandma is now an 11 year cancer survivor and I was proud to walk along with her at Relay my senior year. Now, I start my training to run the marathon. With your help, I'm hoping to raise $4000 for the American Cancer Society by May 4th 2014. I know money is tight for a lot of people (trust me I get it) but know that every little bit counts in fighting the war against cancer. If you're unable to donate, that's fine. You can help out by showing up to the marathon blasting the Global Guts theme song and then cloaking me in an American Flag as I cross the finish line. I'm 100% serious. Someone please do that.
Thank you for your generosity in advance. Off to train!
