BENEFITING: 3 LITTLE BIRDS 4 LIFE
June 2, 2011 I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Appendix Cancer, my cancer is very rare so the doctors only gave me 3 - 5 years to live. My doctor talked to us about getting a second opinion at a hospital in St Louis, MO. So we drove up there and we met with a specialist, he said that he thought he could get rid of the cancer. What hope we had because every other doctor had not given us any hope at all.
On November 7, 2011 my family(wife and 2 daughters(14 and 12)) drove to St Louis to get surgery. After the surgery the doctor had taken about 97% of my cancer, I had to stay in the hospital for about a week. After a month I began chemo to get rid of the remaining cancer. I did a round of treatments and then I got too sick to continue these treatments so my doctor changed the type of chemo. Scan after scan showed no improvement, new spots even showed up so the doctor kept changing the treatment plan. We have have many heartaches a long the way, many new things happen, but I keep fighting. To date my wife and I still drive up to St Louis every other week for my treatments, this will continue probably the rest of my life.
It is my Wish to take my family on our 1st Family vacation to Big Cedar Lodge in Branson!!!
