EVENT DATE: Sep 21, 2013
Here's a story about a boy named Brady who is living with an extra chromosome of his own.
Brady just turned 2 and he's very excited to actually walk in this year's Buddy Walk.
Brady has thrived this year after a hard first year that included a premature birth and meningitis - yikes!
Now, he is just as wily as any 2-year old and he's running all over the place.
Over the past year he has: started walking; begun saying lots of words (some of which we actually understand); formed very strong opinions on things ranging from hats to shoes to Elmo. We have also diagnosed him as a shape-eater. He likes to eat things shaped like triangles - starting at the point (Yum - pizza!)
Brady has recently started pre-school and continues to be the most social person in the room - captivating audiences everywhere with his abilities and charm.
Brady is an active member of F.R.I.E.N.D.S. - the Down Syndrome Support group in Frederick County. For 2013, F.R.I.E.N.D.S. 12th Annual Buddy Walk is reaching out in an effort to raise awareness about Down Syndrome.
We have partnered with CrowdRise to give everyone, whether an individual, a family, a group of families, businesses, schools or other institutions the ability to create their own fundraiser pages and establish teams to help us make our goal this year.
If you are not going to join us at our walk, but would like to help with the fundraising, please click on the "Donate to This Fundraiser" button to get started.
And don't worry - it is tax deductible!
P.S. - you can click on the "About" tab above to see how my fundraising is going compared to all the other teams!
