Do Something Crazy for Smart Development
Take the Plunge! Dip a Toe...or Donate
Community action has never been so much fun. Get psyched to jump with music by D.J. Zak of Zak Magic Entertainment, jump in the lake, get a free t-shirt (first 50 registrants) and then warm up with goodies from two of New Jersey's most awesome food trucks - Cupa Cabana and Hunger Construction.
The brisk event is organized by the Citizens for Health, Safety & Welfare in partnership with the New Jersey Highlands Coalition to raise awareness and funds to address the critical issues surrounding the proposed Waterview development. The current high-density, mixed-use proposal presents serious environmental and quality of life concerns for our communities. Your support will fund research and experts to address these concerns and make a ‘big splash’ in support of responsible development. With your help, together we can send a loud and clear message about the proposed Waterview plan.
Anyone age 8 and above can take the plunge at 1:00, 2:00 or 3:00pm. Please arrive half an hour prior to your jump time. Before or after the splash, enjoy music, food, vendors and entertainment for the entire family. Prizes will be awarded to the craziest outfits; largest sports, business or neighborhood teams; and biggest fundraisers. The Grand Prize for the top fundraiser is a hot air balloon ride for two donated by A Beautiful Balloon.
Click Join the Event, then start your own fundraising page and raise pledges. Fees are $30 per jumper or $100 for a family of four, plus processing fees. Register by April 15 and receive a free t-shirt!
Local businesses who are concerned about the development and want to show their support can become a sponsor or donate prizes. Sponsorship levels are $10,000, $5,000, $2,500, $1,000 and $500. For more information contact Sueanne Sylvester at 973-265-4168; firstname.lastname@example.org.
