I am proud to be a part of the Tour du Rouge, which benefits the important work of the American Red Cross, including emergency relief along the Gulf Coast during hurricane season.
The 2015 American Red Cross Tour du Rouge (May 3-8, 2015) will be my fourth time participating in this great event. We will ride from Houston TX to New Orleans LA over the course of six days, during which we raise awareness of Red Cross services. Day One: Houston TX to Beaumont TX, Day Two: Beaumont to Sulphur LA, Day Three: Sulphur to Lafayette (our longest day, at about 100 miles), Day Four: Lafayette to Morgan City (with a side trip to Avery Island), Day Five: Morgan City to Gonzales, and Day Six: Gonzales to New Orleans. The total mileage is approximately 530 miles, with an average of 88 miles per day.
The 2014 Tour du Rouge raised over $500,000 for the Red Cross. The funds raised for TdR are shared with the local chapters whose regions the ride crosses on its way from Houston to New Orleans.
