BENEFITING: AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY

Family and friends. A stress fracture put me out for seven weeks....With 17 days until the race, my training has restarted. On the positive side, I am well-rested and with a grand total of 5 miles under my belt (baby steps), I have decided to go ahead with running (probably walking, possibly crawling) the 26.2 mile New York City Marathon course.
Given my less than ideal training regimen, my aim is no longer a fast (sub 3:20) time. If I complete the race, I will be delighted. If I break 4 hours I will be overjoyed, but that Boston marathon qualifying time attempt is going to have to wait until next year...
Everyone loves a good comeback story, especially one so fraught with risk, and that could so likely end in humiliation, disaster, astronomical medical bills.....This is America Man! So please, if you feel compelled to sponsor me, (no amount too small) I will endeavor to load up on carbs, stretch, and train sensibly for the next 17 days and, God willing, I will prevail come November 6.
The charity I am raising money for is the American Cancer Society, a cause close to my heart.
Thank you thank you thank you in advance!!
