My dad died of cancer.
It's horrible. I miss him so much and think of him everyday. I'm not kidding, everyday. It happened two years ago. He was diagnosed at 65 and died less than 10 months later. Before he was diagnosed, I never really thought about cancer. It's not one of those subjects any of us choose to spend our time thinking about. Since he died, I've learned that every one out of three men and one out of two women will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
That means all of us have either had cancer or known someone who has been diagnosed with cancer.
The American Cancer Society is the largest non-governmental cancer research contributor in America. Because of them, over 11 million people in America who have or had cancer will be celebrating the holidays once again this year.
This organization is not only working to find cures, but also funding groundbreaking research that will help us to prevent cancer in the first place.
How is cancer touching your life? Make a donation and leave me a message with your story.
Support me and my effort to raise funds for the American Cancer Society and help people stay well, get well, find cures, and fight back.
Even better, if you really don’t like to shop, you can send these really great e-gift cards with your donation to a friend or family member. That way they'll be receiving the gift of a donation in their name.
You know they can’t complain about a gift like that without looking like a total jerk.
Please join my team and fundraise for this cause. If you join and ask 10 of your friends to join your team then we will have a kick ass team.
I challenge you to a fundraiser... whomever raises the most money on my team by the January 4... I will do a video chat with you. We can chat about anything. Including cancer. Or our dads. Or how incredible it is that so many people are banding together to beat this thing.
Just please, not hockey. Nothing against it, but I know absolutely nothing about hockey.
Thanks for your help.
