The moment I heard the words YOU HAVE CANCER my life was changed forever. I knew I would never be the same, but I really had no idea. Cancer had crept up on me...I was too young, too healthy, I excercised and ate well and had no risk factors and had never even heard of Inflammatory Breast Cancer.
Sure, I had lost both grandmothers to cancer at ages 82 and 72. And I had finally begun to recover from losing my father to his 11-month battle with cancer at age 67, but I was only 48. And I know exactly what Paul is talking about...I still miss my Daddy every day...I wish my children could have known him better, and I wish my grandchildren could have known him at all. That was one of my first thoughts when I was diagnosed, that I might never live to have grandchildren and I would really miss that.
But...despite a really gloomy prognosis....doctors sent me to a national cancer center in Houston, TX...M.D.Anderson Cancer Center...and a clinical trial saved my life. Thanks to that research and clinical trial I've had 12 birthdays to celebrate that I should not have had. I am a miracle!!! My survival is a miracle!!! This is what happens to the money that is donated to The American Cancer Society...it funds research and clinical trials....tests and treatments...and miracles!!!
The American Cancer Society is the largest non-governmental cancer research contributor in America. Because of them, over 11 million people in America who have or had cancer will be celebrating birthdays this year.
This organization is not only working to find cures, but also funding groundbreaking research that will help us to prevent cancer in the first place.

Even better, if you really don’t like to shop, you can send these really great e-gift cards with your donation to a friend or family member. That way they'll be receiving the gift of a donation in their name. Or join our team and fundraise for this cause.
Thanks for your help.
