BENEFITING: Humane Animal Rescue
ORGANIZER: Humane Animal Rescue
EVENT DATE: May 04, 2014
It's that time of year again for the Pittsburgh Half Marathon! Training has been rough this year with the very cold and snowy weather, but I'm still making my way out there to get in those training runs when I can. Last year I was so thankful to have so many supporters donate to my fundraising page and help our furry friends in need! I am hoping for that same great support from last year!
In 2013, I ran the half marathon for the first time. Despite the help of trainers and fellow runners, I battled one injury weeks before the race and then another injury during the race. I finished (yeah!!) but did not perform as well as I had hoped. So this year is all about redemption!! I need all of you to help cheer me along by supporting me in whatever way you can. Just remember that you can be a hero to an animal in need with even a $5 donation. Bring out the animal lover and hero inside yourself by donating to my favortie charity to run for- the Animal Rescue League! To see how your donations will help our furry friends in need, just keep scrolling down for more info.
Thanks for your support and hope to see some of you out there on the streets of Pittsburgh the day of the race to cheer me on for extra support!

Welcome to Paws Over Pittsburgh, the Animal Rescue League Shelter & Wildlife Center's page for the Dick's Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon. With your donations, you will be an advocate of our mission to educate people, as well as care for and restore animals to good homes.
Here are some of the ways we'll use the funds you raise:
- $30 will cover the cost of micro-chipping a cat or dog.
- $50 will provide low-cost spay/neuter services to a family who couldn’t otherwise afford it.
- $100 will provide behavioral training for an animal to help her find a new home more quickly.
- $1,000 will cover the total care for an animal that stays in our shelter for one month.
