Pay Back the Trillion Dollar Debt
Organized by: Melody Vitzthum
It has become very apparent in this day in age that students graduating college have a high amount of debt. I, myself, know and understand the daily depression and heartache one can feel when they have to choose between affording to live or paying back a student loan. Living within your means, making sacrifices, and living on a bare minimum is a daily part of many young adults life. The US Census showed that 30.3 percent of 18-34 year olds still live with their parents - Why? So, they can pay back their student loans. CBS News wrote an article on August 5, 2015 titled, "How student loan debt hobbles so many Americans" (Link: http://www.cbsnews.com/news/how-student-loan-debt-hobbles-so-many-americans). Saying the student loan balance has reached nearly $1.2 trillion at the end of March, up $78 billion from last year. And 11 percent of those loans are 90 days delinquent / default. Because of this 56 percent of young adults put off major life events like buying a house, cars, 401(k). So I have decided to do something about it and I want to start a fundraiser (and hopefully one day a Non-profit) that helps pay off the debts of young adults in need. I'm looking to you America to help whittle down this growing problem ONE LOAN AT A TIME. With your help we can make a difference in someones life today. Please, pass along, share with your friends, get everyone on board because the sooner we get this epidemic under control the sooner America can get back to boosting our economy. I set our first goal at $50,000 but would love to see it grow much larger. Thank you. Every person I help, I would like to get a picture of and share their story...of course this is with their consent needed but I want to show the world who is getting / receiving this help. Let's make dreams come true.
