BENEFITING: Aussie And Me Animal Rescue
We always need financial help for new dogs coming into rescue. New dogs need to go directly to the vets to be treated for any illness they may have picked up in a shelter as well as to be tested for heartworm disease and intestinal parasites. Once the testing is completed, they are vaccinated and altered before they can go on our website for adoption. At any given time, we generally have just as many dogs "in the preparing for adoption" stage, as we have available for adoption. Initial costs of rescuing a dog from a shelter cost on average $250 for immediate vetting - and that is if there is NOTHING wrong. Most cases, the animals come down with some sort of respiratory infection, heavy parasite loads leading to anemia or other conditions. Mange is always a concern as well as heartworm disease. Treating a heartworm positive dog could range from $500-$1,250 (depending on the level of severity.) By the time an animal is ready for adoption, we generally have on average invested into their care from $300 to $600 (once again, if nothing is seriously wrong.) Aussie And Me Animal Rescue is notorious for saving those pets that are in the most need - medically (and there have been A LOT of them!) Because of this, we have some awesome veterinarians that have been graciously working with us and who have extended credit (so to speak.) It is IMPERATIVE that we pay all the bills in full before the end of 2016. We love our vets and want to keep working with them, so this is crucial that we become a debt free rescue that we always have been up until summer of 2016. If we cannot pay our veterinarians and clinics, we may be forced to stop rescuing and possibly close our doors (which we do not want to do.) So many 4 leggers are depending on us to help them. Thank you in advance for your continued support over the last 5 years of Aussie And Me Animal Rescue. Without your help, over 1,700 animals would not have found their forever homes!
