I came into the world on November 13, 2012, exactly two months before my due date. I only weighed 3lbs 10oz, and therefore needed a lot of medical attention. After 2 days of being on a ventilator, my parents learned that I had to be transferred to RWJ New Brunswick, which is over 40 miles from our home. After 3 long weeks of waiting, my parents were notified that a room opened up at the Ronald McDonald House, and they could move in immediately.
During their first night at the house, my parents recieved a call from the hospital stating that I was diagnosed with RSV, a respiratory virus that infects the lungs. My parents must have jumped out of bed immediately, because in less than five minutes, they were by my side. I was blessed that they were right across the street at the Ronald McDonald House. If they would have been at home that night, it woud have taken them over 45 minutes to be with me at the hospital.
As time passed, stress began to take its toll on my parents both physically and mentally, but the staff at the Ronald McDonald House was amazing. They provided my parents with love and support every step of the way, and truly became family to us during my 62 day hospital stay.
I am now 16 months old, weighing over 20 lbs. We cannever repay the Ronald McDonald House for what they have done for our family, but we can try to spread our blessings onto others. Any donations to our fundraiser will be used to directly support the families at the Ronald McDonald House of New Brunswick, NJ. Our goal is to raise, $21,900, the amount of money to fund the families at the Ronald McDonald House of New Brunswick for a full year. So, please help us on our quest to raise money for the House that Love Built!!!
