THE STORY:

Homes have been left in ruins. Livelihoods destroyed. Loved ones have been lost. Food and water supplies are running critically low.

PCI is responding to the devastation after the Super Typhoon Haiyan touched ground in the Philippines eight days ago in what many are describing as one of the most powerful storms to ever strike land. According to the United Nations on Thursday, the tragic death toll has risen to more than 4,400 and over 900,000 people have been displaced.

The situation is critical and we need your support to ensure that resources are reaching the communities that have been hit the hardest.

Our humanitarian rapid response and assessment team has been dispatched to the Philippines and are currently in the process of identifying the areas that have been most affected. They will focus initial efforts on working with local partners to provide emergency shelter and water and sanitation services, while assessing the short-term, medium-term, and long-term needs of these areas.

The destruction is overwhelming but you can help.

By donating now to help the survivors of the storm, you will support PCI’s presence today and in the months ahead as we help these communities rebuild.

PCI’s long-standing history of providing humanitarian assistance to people affected by disasters and complex emergencies emphasizes the importance of reaching out to the most vulnerable in remote, hard-to-reach areas.

We go where the need is greatest and we cannot do it without you. Thank you for helping us to bring much-needed resources to the resilient survivors of Typhoon Haiyan.

All donations will go to support efforts in response to the typhoon.
