Peace of Mind for Sandi
Organized by: Sammy Morris
I bring my story before you today not to help myself, but to help a beautiful soul see that she's living in a beautiful world too. Her name is Sandi, she's a 62 years young, stubbornly strong woman. My name is Sammy Morris and I am the youngest, by 17 months, of 2 sons she managed not to kill while raising us as a single working mother and she never once applied for welfare. She was very proactive in the community; she started the Northgate Neighborhood Association which organized community clean-ups and started the gun and drug free zones around the schools. She had to retire a few years early on disability due to a back injury which caused her to spend most of the day in bed in pain. She was in so much pain all of the time. She refused to consider surgery because of the 50% success rate until a few months ago; success rate went up to 70%. While seeing her physician, she met a man through Facebook and fell in love. Unfortunately, this man turned out to be just a sweet talking scam artist trying to sell dreams. My lonesome romantic of a mother bought these dreams at a cost of around $20,000. Around the time she was recovering from her first back surgery and getting fed up with this guy's excuses, she met someone else. Once again a scam artist from Facebook pulled my mom's heart strings and played with her like a puppet. He got around $15,000 from her. They both seem to have been from Gana with stories of expanding their businesses and needing a lawyer to release funds and other BS. Though her second back surgery went very well, it's hard for her to get out of bed with the weight of depression and anxiety. She emptied her savings and gave away more that she could afford believing their promises to pay her back when they finally met. She fell into so much debt helping these 2 a-holes she needed to take out a few loans. This put her in more debt which meant for her, more loans. She then took out a morgage, then other small loans, then a title loan on her van. Even though she was in such debt, shortly after all of this, she tried to help out a homeless girl who had a little boy to have a place to stay rent free. I'm not going to go into all of the details of what happened, but she ended up stealing alot of my mothers things along with the memoryfoam bed my mother was going to use as she recovered from back surgery. Around that time, I totalled her van when I was angry and paranoid when I couldn't find the keys. She now has no reliable transportation and she struggles just to keep her bank account out of the negative. Despite all of that, the worst happened when my older brother got married and did a tour in Iraq. I'm not going to go into details, it hurts. After he came back to the states he cut off communication with everyone in our family. I can't tell you how bad I feel about everything; any attempt seems disrepectfully insufficient a description. Those spurious romeos made a strong beautiful woman feel contrary to how she truly is. That happened after raising a little monster like me; she held on strong despite my repugnancy. She doesn't deserve everything she's been through after all the good things she's done everywhere else. I'm asking for help for her without her knowing about it, so if you know her, don't tell her, just shoot some love or a smile her way please, whether or not you can help with a donation. I'm hoping to raise enough money so that she can buy a new car, pay off all of her debt and maybe give her a proper retiree's savings account. Thank you all for taking time out to read this. Help or not, I wish you much love.
