Peace in Focus, is a Boston based global non-profit organization trains youth from underserved and post-conflict communities to be creative peacebuilders and leaders using photography and grassroots media tools. We offer workshops in the US, Africa, Mexico, and the Caribbean.
Peace in Focus works to awaken confidence in young people by giving them the tools to express themselves and by putting them in leadership positions. This year, Peace in Focus has been invited to be a youth organization to the Clinton Global Initiative (CGIU) in St. Louis, Missouri. By attending this event, we will have the opportunity to not only spread the word about our work and unique approach to conflict management but also the chance to engage the next generation of leaders.
Each year, CGIU invites 1000 university students from all over the country and 50 youth organizations. We hope to reach each one of these students by engaging them in a dialogue for peace and challenging them to be leaders in their communities.
Frederick, Peace in Focus Participant, Port-au-Prince: “Try to be the change. Try to see what you can do in order to be involved and have an impact in your community. You can be a leader. A leader is a person who thinks about his community, who thinks about the world.”
