First off, we would like to thank you for any donations you make as they will be going straight to the kids. On Colgate's campus several sophomores on the football team and basketball team are organizing a student charity 3v3 basketball tournament set for Wednesday 2/10 and Saturday 2/13. On Wednesday 2/10 there will be an exhibition/pool play period where each team of 3 can come out and play as many games as they want at Huntington Gym upper basketball courts from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. The top 8 teams will make it to the Saturday tournament. The first 6 games will be played at the Huntington Gym upper basketball courts from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M. and the championship game of the tournament will be played at the halftime of the Colgate–Bucknell men's varsity basketball game on Cotterell Court. There will be an additional raffle with any donated goods or gift cards on Sunday 2/21 at the Colgate-Loyola game. Our cause is PeacePlayers, a charity aimed at uniting, educating, and inspiring young people in divided communities through basketball. The motto is “Children who play together can learn to live together”. The organization works in the Middle East, South Africa, Northern Ireland, and Washington D.C. Children play in basketball leagues set up by PeacePlayers alongside children coming from the opposing side of conflict, which leads these children to overcome institutional biases, like Muslims vs Jews or Protestants vs Catholics, through sport. Learn more about PeacePlayers here: https://www.peaceplayersintl.org/about-ppi/ As well, PeacePlayers won the Espy for social impact in 2007, here is the acceptance video (It's worth a watch!): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sl-PGUX4BTU Our fundraising goal is $2500 and we appreciate any donations you all might be able to give us. This is a great cause and it's for the kids. We thank you for all your support!
