Peace Walk is a youth-led project from Indonesian Student Association for International Studies (ISAFIS), a non profit youth organisation whose aim is to create mutual understanding among nations since 1984. In 1987, ISAFIS was awarded Peace Messenger by the United Nations (UN).
Throughout its existence, ISAFIS has joined UN movement by United Nations Department of Public Information (UNDPI), United Nations Alliance of Civilization (UNAOC), dan United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA).
On ISAFIS's 30th year, Peace Walk is a non-profit project aimed to relive the spirit of unity in diversity through bottom-up approach. Through this event, we're going to invite youth in Jakarta to march from Stadion Gelora Bung Karno - Bunderan HI. We also invite the vice governor of Jakarta, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, the first ever vice mayor elected from minority background (Chinese descendant and Christian) to be the symbol of tolerance and peace.
