As some of you may know, I lost a very good friend on July 22, 2016. Steve Cadmus was a childhood friend of mine who left us far too early. Sadly, Steve left behind a newborn baby girl, Parker. Being a new father, and seeing a friend in need, I have decided to honor Steve by riding in the 2016 Gran Fondo NJ in an effort to raise funds for his newborn daughter Parker. I have set a reasonable goal, but nothing would make me happier than doubling this goal.
Steve lived his life serving others. He was an EMT and lifetime member of the Clinton (NJ) Rescue Squad before moving on to Military Service. While in the Army for 6 years, Steve attained the rank of Sergeant. He was assigned to the 101st Airborne Division, Air Assault with deployment to Korea for 1 year. He then served in the 4th Infantry Division, Mechanized, with a 1 year deployment in Iraq under Operation Iraqi Freedom as part of the Initial Invasion Force. During Steve's time serving, he accumulated many medals and awards, including the Army Commendation Medal 3 times for actions during the Iraq War.
Steve spent his life serving others, and now I am hoping we can return the favor.
I know many of you knew Steve, and I doubt I have to say much to give you a positive feeling about what kind of guy he was. But for those of you who didn't know Steve, I just ask you to give a small donation to help a family in need. I know that many of you may donate to causes or organizations on your own, but today you can give DIRECTLY to a family in need of our support. It would mean the world to me for anyone reading this to donate, to help myself, to help Parker, and most of all to help a guy who never thought twice about helping others. Thanks for reading.
