The picture is of Elizabeth. She is my daughter and a 7 year brain stem tumor survivor. She was diagnosed when she was seven. She has had two brain surgeries, 3 different chemotherapy regimens, a feeding tube, relearned to walk and swallow, almost died from pneumonia and so much more. She is lucky. She is still here, it has not affected her intellectual development and she is an amazing kid! She writes poetry, performs in plays, has tons of friends and family who love her. The problem is her tumor is still sitting in her brain stem. If it starts growing again it will cause major problems and unless we come up with some new solutions she doesn't have many options left. Like I said she is lucky that she has survived and is doing so well. She and all the kids like her need not only a cure, but better options for treatment while they are waiting for a cure. It's not fair that survival means giving up so much for so many kids. We need more and better options and that is why this is so important. Please give if you can.
