I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Triple Negative Invasive ductal carcinoma, poorly differentiated, with lymphocytic infiltrate and necrosis
The most valuable lesson I’ve learned from having breast cancer is… this disease discriminates from no one, in that, and even with regular prophylactic medical care, this disease can find anyone, anywhere and at any time. Your disposition on how you will deal with disease is critical – will you give up without even beginning to fight? Or will you click into SURVIVORMODE and kick cancer’s butt?
Breast cancer awakened me to… appreciating and striving to have a fulfilled life, and that my life and any life can be taken away that quickly. We need to therefore be vigilant in “living” and not simply existing because the day will come whether disease, freak accident or old age, when you won’t have the option and it’s already decided that today will be your last day.
I am dancing for The Pink Fund because… there’s some woman, somewhere who can’t even find the inner strength to breathe because she thinks that her breast cancer diagnosis is an instant death wish. I’m here to show women that despite the diagnosis, that cancer does NOT define you! You’ve got to take your power back. And yes, there are some who will have a poor prognosis given to them, but even in that, the decision – the choice remains constant – do you want to live or die? From the moment we are born the countdown clock is running towards the time we will take our last breath, one of the unknowns in life, but what we DO know and have power over is how we spend that time. Regardless of the diagnosis, the prognosis, first know that God has the last word despite what is contained on any report. I’m dancing for The Pink Fund because although I’m now breast cancer free, I will forever live my life in SURVIVORMODE and so can you!
Your donation will help me reach my $3,000 fundraising goal. Why $3,000? That amount will help The Pink Fund provide #RealHelpNow to one qualified applicant in active treatment to cover her non-medical, basic cost of living expenses for three months.
