We are a new DIY community arts collective based on the SF Peninsula. Our goal is to provide an inclusive, critical, and all-ages safe space for artists and makers on the Peninsula. We focus our events in between Redwood City and Daly City, and try to highlight as many Bay Area artists in our events as possible. We've been up and running since January (though we didn't start booking artist showcases until August), and have been working to host 2-3 music shows, 3-4 free community events, and one artist showcase each month since then. For October, we want to host an artist showcase that is also a Halloween party! It will include artists, performers, and music—a fun, dynamic, and ~~spooky~~ night focused on highlighting local creators. We take creator compensation really seriously, and do not have a whole lot of funds to offer the performers at this point. Any proceeds we make from our events go to contributing artists first and making our events more accessible second, but we haven't historically been able to compensate artists beyond $25-$50. The goal of this fundraiser is to allow us to compensate more artists in a way that reflects how thankful we are for their time and for the work they created and shared with the community.
