As many of you know, we are currently full-time students at the University of Pennsylvania and are studying to become nurse anesthetists. This two-year master's level program is rigorous and stressful but, despite this challenge, we're excited to use what we have learned to help those in need. In particular, all of us are excited to use our clinical skills and care for patients who need assistance on an international level. In March, the six of us will be traveling to Guatemala with a surgical team to provide anesthesia care for patients who are greatly in need of healthcare assistance. During our mission, we will also be visiting a preschool to donate clothing, food, and school supplies to children living in this impoverished area.
Though we're excited, we could all use help financing this trip, as many of us are living off of student loans and will be using this money to volunteer anesthesia services abroad (unless we get help from you!). Our goal is to raise a total of $9000 (or $1500 for each student going on the mission). In the event that we raise more money than needed, we plan on donating extra funds to the surgical facility and/or preschool we will be serving. Any financial assistance you can provide would be appreciated and will tremendously help patients and preschool children in Guatemala!
