People of Syria living in poverty crisis
Organized by: Chelsea Wilson
It breaks my heart when I see the abdundance of families who are living in poverty with no shelter or food. It strikes to me how inhumane it is that there are people who have nothing and are starving everyday. This should not be how people live and everyone is obligated to hear about the suffering of other young children, parents, grandparents, resendents etc. These beautiful people live on less than $2.50 a day - this is more than 3 billion people where as there are others in the world living in a mansion and upgrading there IPhone every time the new IPhone comes out. 805 million people worldwide so not have enough food to eat. At least 80% of humanity lives on $10 a day. The war in Syria has plunged 80% of its people into poverty, reduced life expectancy by 20 years, and led to massive economic losses estimated at over $200 billion since the conflict began in 2010, according to a UN-backed report.
