EVENT DATE: Nov 27, 2012
Peppercorns is a small early learning center setup by a passionate group of local expat parents to provide a safe & fun learning environment for baby groups, kindergarden & preschool age chilldren. The school is currently self funded, and has been running for 3 years.
The school has recently moved to a larger location, and have recently employed a Dutch teacher and a local Cambodian teacher, and have plans to grow depending on the amount of funds.
We are currently raising funds to:
- renovate the new property, and to make the grounds child safe
- build a large playground built from locally sourced wood, tyres etc.
- create a large sand pit, and purchase related equipment
- purchase art & craft materials
- Complete childrens toilet block.
The learning center is the first of a kind in the area, and will hopefully expand to accomodate more and more sponsored (ie low to no cost) positions for local village children.
The school will also be running a fund raising event - a school fete - during the Cambodian Water Festival which will run between the 27-30th November 2012, and will be targetting expat familes from Phnom Penh (The capital) - to our region during the holiday.
I'm hoping that with the funds received from all my generous friends & the fete, we'll be able to create something special here, that will be enjoyed by kids for years to come.
