perpetual motion project
Organized by: Josh Mills
We are looking to raise the start up capital necessary to file for non profit status and cover the first years cost of operations i.e. refreshments for meetings, promotional materials, and allow the youths to make their first grant for the community. Any excess funds will be placed in the foundations endowment fund to allow for continual grantmaking. Perpetual motion. The youth foundation is not a new concept and we draw our inspiration and guidance from the Michigan Counsel For Youth Projects www.michiganfoundations.org, and the Kellogg foundation. Who are the real visionaries. The Perpetual Motion Project (PMP) is a program to build community foundation capacity, to establish youth as philanthropists, and to build permanent and growing funds within each community to meet local youth needs. Funded by youth driven fundraising to build an endowment fund, PMP will provide grants to non profit organizations looking for funding for projects benefiting youth. We will require youth to be involved in as much of the project as possible including the grant application process. PMP supports youth as existing resources and decision-makers in communities and establishes important statewide ties to service, volunteerism, philanthropy, and service-learning.
