Peruvian Daycare Retention Wall
Organized by: Roly Gerena
Hola family, friends and supporters of MEDLIFE! I am raising money to support the MEDLIFE Project Fund -- which is MEDLIFE's initiative to work with communities in need to complete sustainable, large-scale community development projects. Upon one of my routine field visits, I ran into a daycare center called Virgen del Buen Paso. The daycare has over 450 students enrolled ranging in age from 2-5. The playground out back was relatively large in size, but half of it was closed down. When I asked why this was the case, the principal told me that the wall alongside the playground was deteriorating and highly unstable. At first I didn't think it could be that dangerous, but once I brushed my hand across the wall I was able to see for myself. All the rock and cement on the walls fell off so easily. As a result, the kidsare unable to spend much time at the playground due to this infrastructural concern. I don't know about you but playground time was extremely crucial to my development as a kid. So I am encouraging everyone to please help me support this crucial element of MEDLIFE's work. Every cent helps!Thank you in advance for your contribution!
