Why should you/we support the MDRT Foundation? For me the stories I would hear year after year at the MDRT annual meeting were always touching and my heart would go out to the people that we as an organization have helped over the years. This alone should make us all feel very fortunate about our own situation and if we can be better together and help out our fellow MDRT colleagues and the people and charities they help throughout the world - AWESOME! We can make this a better world for all of us!
My situation became more personal when my wife, Leah, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010. Fortunately, she has recovered and is doing fantastic now. After she had gotten back on her feet, she was looking for ways she could help other women going through situations like hers. She found a local startup non-profit organization, www.candocancer.org. Once she became involved, we were seeing the great work this organization was providing to others and we wanted to help financially. In addition, we were soliciting others support, and in that process I applied for an MDRT Foundation grant and the CANDOCANCER organization was awarded a check for $5,000. WOW! What a huge boost for an organization like this and the additional people that they can help in our home area. THANKS MDRT Foundation! Peter
