THE STORY:

Pete the Pit is a good ole Kentucky boy who is petite in stature, but big on personality. He found his way to a rural county shelter with a deformed front leg. He tries to hide that it hurts him, and greets everyone with so much love and happiness. The Friends of Hardin County Animal Shelter took him to the vet, who did xrays which revealed that his deformity was from an old break that healed improperly, likely as a puppy. It's hard to imagine how something so serious was so easily neglected! Pete's case is now being reviewed by a specialist to determine if the leg can be repaired, or amputation is necessary. His vet bills will only continue to grow. Fat Heads Rescue, from Southern Indiana, is raising funds to cover Pete's care. We would like to raise enough funds to also reimburse the Friends of Hardin County for Pete's initial tests, after the cost of his surgery and care are covered!

Pete will also be available for adoption! You can find our adoption application on our website fatheadsrescue.org

*Goal Amount could be greater and will be updated as Pete's case continues!
