Our mission is to improve the lives of companion animals everywhere by any means possible, including rescue, adoption, advocacy, collaboration, intervention and education.
In 2018, Pets Alive rescued 384 cats, 314 dogs and 2 pigs and found forever homes for 286 cats, 294 dogs, 2 pigs and 3 horses. Additionally, through our TNR (Trap-Neuter/Spay-Return) program, we returned 83 altered and vaccinated community cats to their colonies.
The organization often takes in local stray cats and dogs as well as animals from shelters that face overcrowding so they do not have to resort to killing. Additionally, we work with local law enforcement on rescuing animals involved in cruelty or abuse cases, such as is the case with the intake of our horses. Animals that come within our care continued their lives at our sanctuary until they are adopted. For some, it may take years due to behavioral challenges, however, through our unique training and adoptability programs, we continue to work with these animals to help them overcome these challenges.
