I am a dressage trainer based out of
Orion Dressage Sporthorses in Goshen NY. I am a strong believer in the
work done at Pets Alive, I personally have 4 adopted dogs, one from Pets
Alive Middletown. I am offering discounted lessons- $50 -for new
customers and will be donating all the money to this fund raiser.
Although my focus now is dressage I grew up doing a little bit of
everything - trail riding, jumping, in addition to lots of bare back
riding! I enjoy working with all breeds, levels of riders, and believe
the principles of dressage can help riders of every discipline. I do not
have lesson horses but invite trailer in lessons and will travel up to
25 miles to teach a lesson. If you have a group of riders at your farm
that are interested, I may be willing to travel further. Please contact
me directly to set up the lessons and make payments. Please Email me at

We're now into week 2 of the challenge, which kicks off at 2:00pm ET on May 12. This week, we're really pushing hard to raise funds - Found Animals, the sponsor of this challenge, will donate $5,000 as a bonus to the organization that raises the most money between May 12, 2:00pm and May 19, noon. (ET)
We’re asking you to do your part in rescuing animals by helping us win this Saving Pets Challenge. To donate to help us win, select your choice of team below and then click on the big red "Donate to this fundaiser" button!
To check out the Leaderboard on how we're doing, go here!
What's the contest all about?
The first picture you see in our gallery here is Princess Fiona. Thirty minutes. That's all she had before Animal Care and Control of New York City was scheduled to euthanize her. Her owner requested euthanasia because of her hair loss and distended belly that resulted from her Cushing's disease and hypothyroid condition. But Pets Alive Westchester in Elmsford, NY knew her conditions could be managed and rescued her from a needless death. Fiona is now in our care and receiving treatment. There are many Fiona’s out there that we aim to help but it all takes money.
Michelson Found Animals, the sponsor of this contest, will donate over $115,000 to animal welfare organizations dedicated to decreasing shelter pet euthanasia. The organization that raises the most will get a $50,000 donation to their cause. That could be Pets Alive - with your help!
How You Can Help
It would be so amazing if our incredible supporters like you became fundraisers. By setting up a fundraiser for our cause and reaching out to your network of supporters, imagine the impact you can have. All you have to do is click 'Fundraise for This Campaign' here on this page. The contest runs for 5 weeks through June 5, 2:00pm ET. Share your fundraiser page with everyone you know and start raising money.
Each week there will be a “bonus challenge” for a chance to win even more money. This second week, the organization that raises the most will win $5,000! That could be Pets Alive with your help. Donate now or form a team and fundraiser for us! You can hold a bake sale, put out a donation jar at work, get your local school involved. There's many ways to fundraise that are fun and easy.
Who are we?
Pets Alive is one of the oldest and largest no kill animal rescue and advocacy organizations in the United States, operating two facilities located in Middletown and Elmsford, New York, that serve to rescue, rehabilitate and find loving homes for dogs, cats, rabbits, and farm animals. Our mission is to improve the lives of companion animals everywhere by any means possible, including rescue, adoption, advocacy, collaboration, intervention and education.
In 2014, Pets Alive saved 1,405 cats, dogs and farm animals from life-threatening circumstances, and we found forever homes for 1,472 animals. It was through private donations from generous people and organizations that we were able to achieve this accomplishment.
How would we use the money raised by this challenge? No matter how big or small your donation, it helps Pets Alive save animals. For example:
- 10 dollars buys a bag of cat or dog food
- 25 dollars buys one large canister of powdered kitten milk for orphaned kittens
- 50 dollars pays for one spay/neuter
- 1000 dollars provides medical care for an animal needing lifesaving surgery
Thank you in advance for your support!
