BENEFITING: Pets for Patriots
Help us win $50,00! Pets for Patriots helps United States military veterans, including me, adopt shelter dogs and cats at risk of death or permanent homelessness. My dog Blake, pictured here, is a rescued shelter dog.
Pets for Patriots is the only nationally operating 501(c)(3) organization that is open to veterans and military personnel from all armed forces and any era of service, that is focused on the most overlooked, last-chance shelter pets, and makes pet adoption affordable through its surrender prevention program.
What do shelter pets and military veterans have to do with each other? Only everything!
Think about men and women returning from war with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, deploying troops trying to fill the void of their absence, and veterans who are lonely or depressed. Then consider adult and senior pets, victims of animal abuse, pets with disabilities or chronic medical conditions, and larger dogs. Pets for Patriots is a nationally operating charity that brings together two populations that often feel hurt, broken or left behind. And to help these bonds endure, they make pet parenthood more affordable for the men and women who defend our freedom.
While not all of us will serve our country as a member of the military, we still can be heroes! Help us win the Saving Pets Challenge by donating early and often. I have a bankrupt employer and my money is funny, but I've got $40 on it. Please chip in.
