BENEFITING: FAMILY SERVICE OF BURLINGTON COUNTY NEW JERSEY
PFG the company I work for has started this National Food Drive in 2014. In 2014 all the ten center's in our division donated 41,880 lbs of food and $1,852.28 dollars in the month of Sept. We had a huge increase in 2015 with 146,636 lbs of food and $3,022 dollars raised and donated. We have 10 locations that compete amongst each other in a friendly spirited competition where the real winner's are the food banks and pantries in nine different states NJ, MD, IN, TN, TX, FL, CA, SC, and GA.
Despite being one of the smaller facilities in our company, our NJ facility donated 1,929 lbs of food in 2014 and 13,711lbs of food in 2015. We certainly did our fair share the last two years. It would be great if we could do more in 2016. The favorite part of my Job is when we get to donate food to the food pantries. I am also glad this happens throughout the year and not just in the month of September. I was recently reading an article on how the food banks and pantries can purchase eight to ten times as much food for the dollar than we can with their contacts and sources.
We have set a goal of $10,000. To be honest I have no idea if that is too low or too high to raise in one month. This is my first time trying a fundraiser online, but I am sure that any amount that goes to helping families and individuals in need of a food is money put to good use.
Our charity is a Family Services Center of Burlington County NJ located in Mt Holly. They have a food pantry as well as many other family services. They are run by Oaks Intergrated. I have personally witnessed how hard they work and the amazing good that they have done and continue to do. They also run group homes for children, I have an neice with Autism that is in one of thier programs.
Please join us in our attempt to support them in the awesome work that they do. We apreciate any amount of donation you may be able to give.
I know that any amount raised will be put to good use.
Thank you in advance..
PFG NJ team.
