EVENT DATE: Jun 16, 2013
I am receiving the "Alumni of theYear" award at the Providence Hebrew Day School (PHDS) annual dinner this year. Apparently, my long history of after-school detentions, did not disqualify me from this honor.
So, why should you give to PHDS? Let me explain.
The Day School is one of those dwindling number of Orthodox community day schools that emphasizes what is actually important in a Jewish education; a joy and appreciation of tradition and practice. While the school and community strive for religious excellence, they do so without the insular mentality and cultural elitism that is prevelant in other communities.
You gift will support the scholarship fund and send students who can't afford a Jewish education to the Providence Hebrew Day School.
Need proof that they do a good job? Just look at me........Pfffft....BWUAHAHAHAHAHA
Please accept this invitation to give generously.
PS. If you make a donation, you can post whatever creative - or disparaging - remarks on my wall for everyone to see. Go ahead, make me cry. :)
